My therapeutic training has been centered on experiential, culturally sensitive, and inner work necessary for becoming a healer.
Drawing upon the major spiritual traditions of the East and West, recent cultural and social sciences research, and the innovations made by contemporary psychoanalytic, humanistic, systemic and transpersonal psychologies, I have adopted my practice to view psychological healing and client’s growth within the context of body, heart, mind and spirit.
My professional experience encompasses working within clinical settings with diverse social and cultural clients. I focus on assessing individual client needs and providing compassionate therapeutic interventions to families, couples and children.
My specialties include:
As part of therapy I use: Mindfulness, Guided Imagery Somatic Experiencing, Progressive Relaxation and Trauma Therapy. I have been also involved in Expressive Arts for over 20 years and can assist clients in exploring best ways for healing.
As you deepen participation in therapy, you may find that regular practice of relaxation and mindfulness may alleviate anxiety, depression, and negative attitudes, reduces fatigue and exhaustion, put you in touch with your confidence, joy, enthusiasm and self worth, and bring you back to being heart centered.
As a therapist I see myself of service to my client's and help them increase greater awareness. We work together towards overcoming client's obstacles that hold them from experiencing life more fully.
Mindfulness and Somatic Experiencing offers a new and hopeful perspective on trauma. It views the human as a unique being, endowed with an instinctual capacity to heal, as well as the intellectual spirit to harness that innate capacity. Thru therapy and increased self awareness, clients may have greater ability to experience life more fully.
“Repeated activation of the relaxation response can reverse sustained problems in the body and mend the internal wear and tear brought on by stress.” Herbert Benson, MD Timeless Healing, 1996
I am here to support personal growth and healing of my clients.
